Dragon King CAS 40th Anniversary Ryujin Katana

To celebrate CASIberia's 40th birthday, Dragon King has created the Anniversary Katana of 2025, a functional single-edged samurai katana sword made for cutting practice.

The blade of this katana features the samurai-favorite profile known as shinogi-zukuri. It is made from T10 tool steel, a material renowned for its high carbon content which makes it tough and very durable for tameshigiri (cutting practice). It has undergone traditional differential hardening which gives it a playful and rare Choji hamon, while making its edge harder than the spine with a 60 to 40 HRC difference, the perfect balance between toughness and flexibility. The blade includes a bohi (groove) which reduces its overall weight and produces a louder tachikaze (sound of slashing), perfect for cutting training.

The handle is traditionally made with double sets of pegs for increased stability. It is carefully and tightly wrapped with rayskin underneath a tsuka-ito wrap featuring a dragon motif used as menuki (handle decoration). The silver guard, collar, pommel, and each are decorated with the Japanese Ryujin, the Dragon god, believed to bring good fortune and wealth to its wielder.

This katana comes with its very own wooden scabbard that has been lacquered for a shiny effect.
