Shadow Dancer Nova Green Dragon Tsuba Battle-Ready Katana Sword

A timeless piece that evokes tranquility and strength, this Shadow Dancer katana from the Nova series blends modern designs with the uncompromising standards of traditional craftsmanship, ideal for any collector or martial artist. 

Its stunning shinogi zukuri (ridge line runs along the blade’s length) blade is forged from 9260 spring steel, giving it impressive resilience, flexibility, and shock resistance. Its durability makes it suitable for tameshigiri practitioners of any level. Heat treated and oil quenched, the mirror polished blade has a bohi (fuller) that decreases the sword’s weight, improves its point of balance, and heightens the clarity of the tachikaze, resulting in better overall performance. 

As the katana’s name implies, the sword’s brass fittings have dragon motifs, as seen in the tsuba with engraved dragon scales and the fuchi with dragon claws. While the number of claws denotes rank in Chinese mythology, the three-clawed dragon is the traditional representation in Japanese lore, symbolizing power, wisdom, and protection. A matching kashira with flame motifs represents spiritual purification, burning away worldly desires to achieve immovable resolve, fearlessness, and mental clarity. Brass menuki, seppa, and habaki complement the overall design. 

Following tradition, one mekugi secures the blade to the wooden Haichi-style hilt, allowing the handle to be easily disassembled for maintenance if required. The tsuka is first covered with white genuine samegawa held in place by a tight tsukamaki using black synthetic silk ito. 
This luxurious piece is completed by a deep green oil lacquered scabbard with black flecks, an alloy shitodome, and a matching thickened sageo.
