PRODUCT DETAILS

This Toyotomi Hideyoshi Moroha Tachi is an ornate and elaborate looking piece that pays tribute to the feudal lord and Chief Imperial Minister who completed Japan's unification in the 16th century that was begun by Oda Nobunaga. Toyotomi Hideyoshi was also a Japanese samurai of the late Sengoku period, rising from a peasant background to become one of the most powerful person in Japan's history.

The beautiful blade is traditionally folded multiple times resulting in beautiful and visible hada (blade grain patterns). It is sheathed in a red and blue saya with gold details and multicolored sageo. The kurikomi mokko gata (lobed tsuba with inome notches in the corners) is black with gold details and trim, adding to its intricate design. The tsuka is inlaid with white samegawa and wrapped with blue ito. Tying into the overall design is the same black with gold details and trim that applies to the fuchi, kashira, menuki, kurigata, koiguchi, and kojiri.
