Windlass Viking Huntsman’s Hadseax

Inspired by the everyday knives carried in the Viking Age, the Viking Huntsman’s Hadseax is an accurate replica suited to collecting, display, outdoor use, bushcraft, camping, skinning, and general cutting tasks. Hand-forged from 1075 high carbon steel, it offers the toughness and durability associated with this material for demanding cutting work.

Its single-edged blade includes a ridge near the tip for more precise cuts, while the traditional small fullers reflect iconic Viking styling and add visual detail. The overall construction emphasizes historical character along with practical utility.

A hardwood grip is accented by hand-carved bone spacers with cross-hatched detailing and black-stained grooves, creating a strong period look. At the pommel, a lanyard ring is fitted with a leather thong that can be used for secure carry or for hanging the knife from gear.

For storage and transport, it includes a brown leather sheath embossed on both sides with interlaced dragon designs. Brass fittings with an aged finish complete the presentation, and two rings allow cord or leather to be threaded through for attachment to a belt or sash.
