Shadow Dancer Nova Black/Purple Myst Katana

Shadow Dancer brings together the best of traditional craftsmanship and modern design with their Nova series. 

This katana’s shinogi zukuri (ridge line runs along the blade’s length on both sides) blade is forged from 9260 steel, a material with a higher amount of silicon, offering impressive flexibility, resilience, and shock resistance. Heat treated and oil quenched, this blade is mirror polished for a reflective and flawless finish. A bohi on the blade helps decrease the sword’s overall weight while moving its point of balance towards the hilt for a more responsive and agile performance. 

Premium blackened fittings in this katana include an iron maru gata (round) tsuba, brass fuchi and kashira with stone wall pattern, brass menuki, as well as gold-toned brass seppa and habaki. 

One mekugi pins the full tang blade between the two halves of the wooden Haichi-style tsuka. This handle is then bound with white genuine samegawa wrapped tightly in place using synthetic silk ito. 

To complete this piece, the sword comes sheathed in an oil lacquered purple scabbard with alloy shitodome and thickened sageo. Light purple specks cover the scabbard, akin to a heavy blizzard in the night.
