PRODUCT DETAILS

Hanwei's Practical Plus XL Light Katana is a piece that combines affordability, function, and aesthetics. Featuring a full tang blade forged from 1566 carbon steel, the fuller on the blade helps to decrease the overall weight of the sword and improve its point of balance, allowing for quick attacks on heavy targets. Differentially treated and clay tempered, this blade also has a striking midareba hamon that is easily visible from afar.

It comes equipped with traditional fittings including a kikka gata (chrysanthemum shaped) iron tsuba with a sunburst design, fuchi and kashira with Japanese Dogwood, and a dragon menuki.

The long tang of the blade is double pegged to the tsuka for stability. The tsuka is then covered with a white genuine same and the tsukamaki uses tightly woven black cotton tsuka ito. The katana comes sheathed in a black lacquered saya and black sageo.
