Windlass English War Hammer

The English War Hammer was a melee weapon used during the 14th century, designed to combat the popular plate armor of the time. When a spear, sword, or halberd failed to do the job, the hammer with its spike could deliver the damage necessary to take down a fully-kitted plate-armored soldier.

This is an accurate replica of a model dating back to the 1430s. This war hammer is made out of durable steel and is mounted on a wooden shaft with multiple points of reinforcement along it.

The bottom of the handle has been tightly wrapped with leather to ensure a very firm grip. It also features a metal pommel at the base, which secures the shaft together and provides the right tightness and balance in weight needed for effective use.
