Windlass French Napoleonic ANXI Hussar’s Sword

The Hussars were a regiment serving under Napoleon during the Napoleonic Wars in Europe, known for being light and very fast troops. They excelled in scouting, often damaging the enemy army before an actual battle began, as well as in effective skirmishes that disorganized enemy lines. They did so with a light and fast sword like the ANXI Hussar's Sword. This blade is a functional replica of one such saber.

It is made out of 1075 high carbon steel, a material known for the right level of balance and toughness ideal for sabers. It is a copy of an original, featuring a wide fuller running in its center that gives the strongly curved blade the right level of balance. The blade has an unsharpened ricasso near the guard with a langet to allow for more maneuverability when slashing. Just like the original, the blade is etched with "Mfture Impale du Klingenthal Octobre 1813."

The handle is simple with a protective D-guard, designed not to limit slashing capabilities. It is made out of solid brass, including the pommel and spine. The one-handed handle has leather wrapping for comfort.

The sword comes with its own steel scabbard, accurate to the original, which can be tied to the user's belt.
