Windlass Shogun Ryu Tatsu Water Dragon Katana

The Shogun Ryu Tatsu Katana is one of the Japanese samurai blades that were used for fighting in the brand new Shogun Netflix show. While ideal for decoration, this sword comes factory sharpened after being tested on paper and is usable for tameshigiri (cutting practice) on various targets.

The blade features a traditional shinogi-zukuri profile, the favorite of the samurai, with a bohi (groove) that reduces its weight and produces a loud swooshing sound when slashing. The steel is 1095 high carbon steel, known for its durability and toughness, and has been tempered with traditional ancient methods by applying a clay mixture on the edge, producing its real hamon.

The two-handed handle has a tight tsuka-ito wrap in a katate-maki style over real rayskin, allowing for a very firm grip. The blade is double-pegged, which increases its durability. The handle and fittings are made out of quality, durable brass and are decorated with a Japanese dragon.

This Shogun Katana comes with its own scabbard, painted black and made glossy, as well as its own cotton sword bag and a maintenance kit.
