Shadow Dancer Kill Bill Katana Sword

One of the most popular films of the 21st century, Kill Bill is a two-part martial arts film directed by Quentin Tarantino with Uma Thurman starring as Beatrix Kiddo. Shot and left for dead while pregnant, she awakens after a four-year coma driven by an unyielding desire for retribution. Seeking out legendary swordsmith Hattori Hanzo, who later breaks his sacred vow to forge her a katana, she uses the weapon on a crusade of honor, skill, and martial virtue. 

Paying tribute to the cinematic legend, Shadow Dancer’s Kill Bill Katana is an icon of modern film history. This must-have centerpiece has a shinogi zukuri (ridge line runs along the blade’s length on both sides) blade forged from crucible steel, allowing it to resemble the much coveted aesthetics of a tamahagane blade. 

Differentially heat treated and clay tempered, the blade’s stunning jihada and suguha (straight) hamon is further accentuated through traditional sashikomi polishing. A bohi on the blade takes off excess weight and brings its point of balance toward the hilt for swift, agile handling. A shishi horimono is engraved into the blade, serving as Hanzo’s personal mark. 

This katana is equipped with premium blackened fittings, including an iron maru gata (round) tsuba with cutout geometric patterns, brass fuchi and kashira with stone wall pattern, brass menuki, as well as brass seppa and habaki. 

One mekugi secures the full tang blade to the wooden core Haichi-style tsuka covered in white samegawa. The tight tsukamaki is wrapped using Japanese imported cotton ito, with hishigami (folded paper wedges) additions to ensure clean symmetrical hishigata (diamond shapes) and a solid grip. 

Completing this beautiful piece is a black glossy oil lacquered saya, featuring dual carved engravings: Hattori Hanzo’s iconic crest near the koiguchi, and the menacing Oni (devil) motif further down the scabbard’s body. This saya is fitted with brass shitodome and a matching thickened sageo.
