Hanwei Viking Throwing Spearhead (Niello Finish Effect)

Paul Chen's decorated spearheads showcase the Viking's artistry and martial expertise, with intricate patterns created using the "Niello" process. This technique involved an alloy of metals, including silver, mixed with sulfur, which was applied to engraved patterns and then fired. The result is a captivating contrast between the blackened engravings and the polished surface. Hanwei's decorating process achieves a similar lustrous and enduring Niello-like effect. Each spearhead has a shaft diameter of 1", and spearheads are sold separately. 

The Nordic warrior often carried multiple light Throwing Spears into battle, featuring narrow and sharply pointed heads designed to pierce mail armor. These spears could be thrown as the warrior closed in, allowing them to engage in hand-to-hand combat with a sword or axe. The total head length of the Throwing Spear is 16 ¼".
