PRODUCT DETAILS

Compared to swords, spears have the advantage of a longer reach. Believed to have been used as early as 45,000 years ago, spears have an important role in the evolution and history of humans. Even in Chinese culture, the spear was the oldest military weapon that was consistently used throughout the years. Spears were also extremely popular among the Vikings, becoming the commonest weapon used among the warriors. This is especially true as spears take very little iron to produce, a resource that was hard to come by at the time.

Inspired by the various cultures especially the Vikings, Hanwei's War Spear has a 1" diameter shaft, measuring 6'8" long. With distinct Viking and Frankish styles, the lugged head of the spear is balanced by a tailspike. Forged from 1566 high carbon steel, the presence of manganese in the material results in a tough spearhead that retains its sharp edge remarkably well despite extended use.
