PRODUCT DETAILS

The Wakizashi was the secondary blade of the samurai. It was used in close-quarters combat, as a last-resort battle item, or for ceremonial seppuku (ritualistic suicide). This functional and premium replica is made from 1095 high carbon folded steel in a gyaku-kobuse (harder outside layer and softer inner core). Its blade is folded to create a Damascus Steel outlook while traditionally clay-tempered to feature a genuine hamon and a much harder edge.

This Wakizahi's blade is properly heat-treated and quenched for ideal hardness levels. The handle is full tang and double-pegged for security. It also features an accurate samurai wrap consisting of rayskin under a tsuka-maki cord. The scabbard is made from wood, with a rayskin texture around it. The fittings present an outstanding level of detail, forged from brass with a dragon theme - a symbol of courage, bravery, and strength.
