PRODUCT DETAILS

The Schlaeger Rapiers feature a modified popular swept hilt to accommodate Hanwei's schlaeger blades in 37" (SH1099) and 43" (SH1098) lengths. These tapered blades offer superior balance compared to traditional parallel-sided schlaegers, resulting in a faster sword.

Paul Chen's Renaissance-style Rapiers have their origins in 17th century Europe, where the Rapier played a crucial role in the education of gentlemen and resolving disputes. Blades were often sourced from renowned centers like Toledo or Solingen, while hilt designs varied across Europe.

The Main Gauche, a left-hand dagger, was commonly paired with the Rapier to enhance both offense and defense. European "Schools of Fence" taught the integrated use of these two weapons. The Main Gauche was often stylistically matched to the Rapier while incorporating features for maximum effectiveness. Replacement blades, both live and blunt for sparring purposes, are available for most Rapiers and Main Gauches.
