Windlass Axe of the Crusades

This is a replica of an axe used during the Crusades (1095-1291), which remained popular even throughout the Late Middle Ages. The axe was a formidable weapon, highly favored by many warriors at the time for its powerful ability to cut and smash through mail armor.

This Axe of the Crusades is appropriately decorated with a cross on its steel axe head. The blade is sharpened and designed for powerful chopping.

The axe head has been riveted and mounted on smooth hardwood, with extra langets for additional support. The grip has been smoothed out and wrapped with black leather, allowing for an exceptionally powerful grip. It also features hanging rings at the bottom, enabling it to be tied to a belt for easier carriage.

This axe comes with its own leather axe head cover that protects the blade from rust and ensures safe carrying.
