Chinese Sword Huan Shou Dao

The Huan Shou Dao pays tribute to the single-edged broad swords used during the Song Dynasty (960-1279) for delivering heavy-cutting attacks on the enemy. Wholly hand-forged using Damascus steel made from a combination of carbon steel, the blade is folded 13 times, resulting in over 8196 layers of beautiful Damascus patterns dancing over its blade. The blade is then polished over 14 times to produce a sharp edge ideal for cutting practice.

The sword's fittings are made of brass, complemented by a scabbard made with Huali wood. In both sharpened and unsharpened variants, this blade is perfect for display or demonstrating the might of the Chinese dao during tameshigiri.
