Ronin Katana Dojo Pro Model #4

The Dojo Pro Katana Model #4 from Ronin Katana is a beautiful and daunting piece with a blade made from 1060 steel and through hardened. This process also known as neutral hardening strengthens the steel by rapid quenching after the blade is heated to increase the hardness throughout.

This katana has a maru gata (circular or round) tsuba (guard) that is based on an actual antique Japanese sword. It also has a blackened iron fuchi kashira (hilt collar and pommel cap) and a gold colored habaki (blade collar) and brass menuki (decorative ornament).

The tsuka (handle) is covered with white same (rayskin) and the tight tsukamaki uses black silk ito (handle wrap) to give it a solid and snug grip. the glossy black saya (scabbard) is lacquered with fittings such as the koiguchi (mouth of saya), kurigata (knob for sageo), and kojiri (scabbard end cap) made of hand cut and polished buffalo horn.

The overall look of this katana is completed with a black and white synthetic silk sageo (carrying cord) that secures the sword to the obi (belt).
