Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1941) dao were known for their quality and standard, later becoming standard issue for both Han and Manchu military troops. Some variants remained in use in the 20th century, such as during the second Sino-Japanese War. 

This magnificent sword from HanBon Forge pays tribute to these historical elite swords once traditionally used by imperial guards. Their version features a folded steel full tang curved blade crafted from 1095 high carbon steel, a material known for its sharpness and improved edge retention, especially after being clay tempered. 

Thoughtfully designed for superior balance and strength, intricate brass fittings adorn the sword, combining elegance and function. Its handle is ergonomically designed and wrapped with cord for a secure and durable grip.
