Japanese Katana Bat Sword

This Japanese Katana sword, with a unique handguard, is said to bring its owner prosperity and good luck. Its design follows a motif of the highly respected Japanese bat. Constructed from 1060 high carbon steel, it's famed for an optimal blend of flexibility and strength. Proper heat treatment, quenching and traditional hazuya stone polishing provide the ideal level of hardness.

The full tang is double pegged, offering increased security. The sword's bohi (grooves) help to lower its overall weight and produce a tachikaze (sound of a perfect swing). A traditional and comfortable cotton tsuka-maki is used for the handle and is overlaid with rayskin. The wooden scabbard boasts a shiny gloss for aesthetic appeal. Constructed out of alloy and brass, the fittings are blackened and disassemblable, adhering to the overall dark bat theme.
