Katana Damascus Steel Sword Full Tang Blade

This affordable, Japanese Katana maintains the historic attributes of a samurai's preferred edged weapon, while featuring a modern Damascus Steel construction. This steel has been folded 13 times, resulting in over 8192 visible blade layers. Further, the blade has undergone a 12-step, hand-polishing process to highlight its grain and deliver a mirror shine. Concurrently, it has been quenched and hardened to cure it with an ideal balance of rigidity and flexibility.

The fittings are crafted from an alloy, brass, and copper mix, displaying a Japanese dragon motif intertwined with images of Japan's renowned samurai - Musashi Miyamoto. The tang is reinforced with a double-peg for security and is wrapped with rayskin, covering a wooden core under a silk hineri-maki (cord wrap style). This provides improved grip control. The scabbard exhibits the natural wood color, and the blade incorporates two sets of bohi (grooves). These grooves not only reduce the sword's weight but also aid in producing a tachikaze (sound of a perfect slash). This blade serves as an ideal tool for beginners to practice cutting or can be used safely for Iaido training.
