Windlass Late Period War Hammer

A war hammer is a melee weapon that features a regular hammer on one side and a spike on the other. This design made it a very popular weapon for bashing the plate armor of an enemy or using the spike to penetrate the plate itself after a well-performed strike. This is a replica of a War Hammer that was common during the Renaissance, specifically in the 16th and 17th centuries.

The head is made out of durable and tough steel, held on a shaft which makes it heavy yet very effective upon impact. The lower half is widened and wrapped with cord to allow for a firm and steady grip.

This accurate hammer is based on an original found in the Nuremberg Museum today and can be used as a decoration to portray 16th-century European soldiers or used for testing its might on a training target.
