Musashi Japanese Katana T10 Steel Sword

Subtle with a hint of lethality, this HanBon Forge katana is a tribute to Miyamoto Musashi, a Japanese strategist, writer, and artist who was also considered a kensei (sword saint). His undefeated record of over 60 duels made him a legend almost every practitioner aspires to be. 

This katana’s shinogi zukuri (ridge line runs along the blade’s length on both sides) blade is forged from T10 tool steel, an alloy with properties similar to 1095 high carbon steel—known for its sharp edge. However, the addition of silicon improves the blade’s strength and edge retention, making it a popular choice for practitioners of any level. The blade’s bohi also helps to decrease the sword’s overall weight, improve its point of balance, and enhance the clarity of its tachikaze. 

Equipped are high quality fittings—including Musashi’s double ring tsuba, one of the most iconic handguard designs in Japanese history, known for its light, durable, and balanced design. 

The thoughtful integration of two instead of the traditional single mekugi reinforces the stability of the blade’s full tang within the wooden core tsuka covered with red samegawa and wrapped tightly with black tsuka ito. Completing this piece is a black glossy lacquered katana with red accents and a black sageo.
