PRODUCT DETAILS

Ngombe Ngulu swords are often regarded as one of the most intimidating historical blades. They originate from Central Africa, particularly the regions surrounding modern-day Congo, and are associated with peoples such as the Ngombe and Mongo. Despite influencing fantasy sword designs, the Ngombe Ngulu genuinely existed and was primarily ceremonial, symbolizing high status, warrior prowess, and authority. Its formidable appearance alone could sometimes subdue enemies or enforce tribal laws through executions.

This Ngombe Ngulu replica features a single-edged sharpened blade, distinctively crafted with prongs along the spine, differing from other Ngombe Ngulus known for double-edged, sickle-shaped tips (see model EVAFRSWORD01). Hand-forged from tough and resilient 5160 spring steel, the blade includes a fuller running along its center.

The handle is made from rosewood, designed with finger notches for improved grip and comfort, and features a small protective guard. A leather scabbard specifically designed to fit the sword’s unique shape is included.

This Ngombe Ngulu provides insight into historical African swordsmithing and is suitable for collection, display, or practical cutting exercises.
