Windlass Ottoman Kilij Sword with Authentic Yelman Tip

Turkish Kilij swords are iconic sabers that greatly influenced the adoption of curved blades across Europe. This replica is based on a preserved museum piece and follows the design of the Pala, a variant used throughout the Ottoman Empire during the 19th century. Its form—with a straight spine and a curve that starts near the tip—goes back as far as the Seljuk period, with only slight variations over time.

The blade on this functional, sharpened replica is made from 1070 high-carbon steel, offering a strong balance between toughness and durability for cutting practice. A fuller runs along the spine to reduce weight, and the widened, flared tip—known as the yelman—adds more cutting power while still allowing for effective thrusts.

The handle is one-handed, made of wood, with a pistol-shaped grip for secure handling. It includes a diamond-shaped metal guard, a common feature in traditional Islamic saber designs.

It comes with its own leather scabbard, complete with a brass throat and chape, staying true to historical styling.
