Dragon King Pine Crane Wakizashi Symbolic

This is the Pine Crane Wakizashi, a Japanese samurai shortsword and an exquisite piece of revered symbolism of Japanese culture. It represents the red-crowned crane, a symbol of profound respect and power in Japanese mythos, believed to live for a thousand years. It also features the pine tree, another iconic symbol of power, longevity, and wisdom, deeply engraved in Shinto belief.

This wakizashi comes with great attention to detail and is made with colors of earth tones. Its fittings are enriched with fine details echoing life in art.

It carries a very tight cotton tsuka-ito wrap contrasted with real white rayskin, and a small square tsuba handguard also decorated with the crane motif. The blade is forged from T10 steel, renowned for its durability in cutting against hard targets.

The blade has an authentic and real clay tempering hardening process that produced a real hamon, also enhanced with a thorough polish. It has been hardened to 60 with 40 on the edge and spine, making it ideal for tameshigiri (cutting practice).

It comes with a scabbard that has been textured brown with a matte striped paint and buffalo horn fittings. It comes in a Daisho (set) with the Pine Crane Katana (SD35290). Since it is handmade, its specs will vary from piece to piece.
