Dragon King Pine Crane Wakizashi Symbolic

Dragon King’s Pine Crane Wakizashi is an elegant and masterfully crafted piece. Forged from T10 steel, the shinogi zukuri (ridge line runs along the blade’s length on both sides) blade is differentially hardened to produce a strong and sharp blade with superior edge retention. The tempering process also yields a stunning gunome (wave-like) hamon that aligns with the sword’s design. 

High quality fittings adorn the wakizashi—including a kaku maru gata (square with rounded edges) tsuba, fuchi, kashira, and menuki. Gold- and silver-toned seppa and habaki add warmth and contrast to the wakizashi’s design. The beautiful tsuba features a crane amidst pine trees—symbolizing strength, longevity, good fortune, and resilience. Deeply significant, the crane is also seen as a messenger of the gods, bringing wisdom and peace. 

Following tradition, a single mekugi secures the full tang blade to the wooden core tsuka covered in white samegawa wrapped tightly using black cotton tsuka ito for a comfortable and durable grip. Completing this masterpiece is a lacquered scabbard with black banded accents and a matching sageo.
