Wakizashi T10 Steel Sword Practical Karakusa

This Karakusa Wakizashi has a full tang blade that is hand forged from T10 steel, differentially hardened, and clay tempered to produce an elegant hamon that is even more visible after it is cosmetically polished.

As its name suggests, the wakizashi is equipped with solid brass fittings that has karakusa (唐草) motifs. Although it originated in China, the Karakusa or Winding Plant pattern is well-known in Japan as a symbol of prosperity and luck. The tight tsukamaki (handle wrapping style) with hishigami is made with cotton ito available in red, black, or brown. Completing the design is the glossy or matte black saya (scabbard) that is partially wrapped with rattan.
