Rayskin Wrapped Saya Katana Damascus Steel Sword Folded Clay Tempered

This is a replica of a Japanese Katana sword, which was widely used by the legendary samurai in their everyday lives and large-scale battlefields. The Katana is made from the mysterious Damascus Steel, folded repeatedly to produce stunning layers and patterns that dance across the blade's length. A traditional hazuya stone polish enhances this grain pattern, giving it a mirror-like shine.

The blade, while double-pegged and full tang, has no bohi (grooves) to increase its power when used for slashing. Its handle is wrapped with rough rayskin under a tight hineri-maki cord-style, allowing for a very strong grip. The scabbard is made of reliable hardwood and its fittings, which are made of brass and copper, can be assembled and disassembled. These carry a Japanese dragon motif symbolizing bravery and strength. The Katana could excel in cutting practice if sharpened or serve as a dojo's training tool if left unsharpened.
