Shadow Dancer Shippu‑Kiri S7 Steel Katana Sword

Shadow Dancer’s Shippu-Kiri, 疾風斬り Sword, meaning “swift wind cutter,” is designed for maximum speed, agility, and effortless slicing. Its shinogi zukuri (ridge line runs along the blade’s length on both sides) blade is forged from S7 steel, a high performance tool steel favored for its shock resistance and toughness. Heat treated and oil quenched, the blade is super mirror polished for an ultra smooth and reflective finish.

Premium fittings for this sword include an iron kirikomi mokko gata (lobed with inome/heart-shaped notches in the corners) tsuba, ridged cupronickel fuchi and kashira, cupronickel menuki and habaki, as well as silver-toned seppa. 

A single mekugi secures the nakago to the wooden Haichi style tsuka covered in genuine samegawa. The tightly wrapped tsukamaki uses Japanese nubuck ito for its durability and friction. Combined with the velvety surface of the nubuck, the addition of hishigami pro (folded paper wedges) ensure a solid and comfortable grip.

This sword’s scabbard is finished in a black ishime style (stone-textured) urushi lacquer fitted with cupronickel shitodome and Japanese rayon sageo.
