PRODUCT DETAILS

This is a 17th-century rapier based on a Torino-style sword. Located at the crossroads of Spain, France, and Italy, Torino has developed a unique and extravagant style evident not only on the blade but also on the hilt.

The rapier features a blade made from 1566 high carbon steel, known for its flexibility and durability in slimmer blade versions. It boasts a swept hilt style handguard with a blade catcher, which was very popular in 17th-century Italy. This design protects the user's hand while adding to the weapon's extravagance. The handle features a twisted wire grip that enhances the authentic feel when held, and a rounded, large pommel that balances the blade and increases precision during attacks.

The rapier comes with a scabbard for safe carriage and can be paired with a similarly styled Torino Main Gauche (SH2207), which was the traditional way to carry this weapon. The blade is suitable for cutting practice or can be replaced with an OH2255 safety blade intended for sparring.
