Windlass Viking Thane Axe

Thanes in the Viking community referred to local aristocrats or nobility. These higher classes owned lands, maintained personal guards, and could dispatch raiders on pillaging missions. To differentiate themselves, they wore distinct clothing and carried specific types of weapons and daily tools such as axes. This is a replica of a Viking Thane Axe.

It is crafted from a solid one-piece forged head made from X46Cr13 high-grade stainless steel, renowned for its anti-rust and corrosion properties. The axe has been treated to a 52 HRC hardness level, making it functional and durable for cutting. The axe head features a single edge with an extended lower half, typical for Vikings as it could be used to pull on enemy shields.

The handle is contoured and engraved with Viking elements. The bottom pommel cap is made of bone and features a depiction of Thor's mighty hammer, Mjolnir.

This axe comes with its own leather belt sheath to protect the blade from outdoor elements while making it easier to carry. It also comes in a faux fur-lined box.
