Windlass Voyager Scramasax

This is the Voyager Scramasax Seax, a short and tactical knife based on the historical Viking blade known as the Seax. These blades were carried by both civilians and warriors for a range of purposes, from fighting and self-defense to everyday tasks such as cutting branches, skinning animals, and survival.

This particular replica is crafted from a hand-forged 1075 high carbon steel blade. It features a straight cutting edge with a ridge for better precise control. The blade is enriched with two sets of smaller fullers running through its length, enhancing both its aesthetic appeal and thrusting capability.

The handle is made out of bone, as historical versions were, because bone is impervious to humidity—a crucial feature for Vikings on their longships during extended raids. The butt cap includes a ring with a lanyard that can be tied around the hand or attached to the user's belt.

It comes with its own leather sheath, stained dark brown and embossed with interlaced ringlets and bands, complemented by brass hardware. The sheath includes a threading cord that can be attached to a belt or sash.

This knife is ideal for both reenactments of a Viking warrior and for modern bushcrafting or any type of camping activities.
