Windlass Bushido Kiku No Gyokuza Flower Blossom Katana

Blossoms on Japanese swords represent rebirth and remind the user to cherish each passing moment, because the Japanese flower blossom is fleeting. This symbolism was commonly used on samurai swords, as samurai might face their final battle at any moment.

This sword is crafted from high-carbon steel that has been pattern welded. This process involves mixing several layers of steel, resulting in a Damascus Style pattern that dances across the blade's length. It features a bohi (groove) that reduces the sword's weight and produces a loud sound when used for slashing. The blade has been thoroughly hardened and has a hardness of around 40-45 HRC with a painted hamon.

The double-pegged handle provides much more structure and security, while the tightness of the tsuka-ito wrap atop the rayskin ensures it is very secure to hold. The guard and fittings are made out of brass, decorated with an aged antique finish.

This Bushido Kiku No Kyokuza comes with its own scabbard with a deep black burgundy gloss and a cotton storage bag for safekeeping.
