Windlass D-Guard Bowie Knife

The Bowie Knife was a multipurpose tool that initially featured a very wide and broad blade, suitable for tackling any type of element faced in the outdoors. This is a functional and accurate replica of one such early Bowie Knife with a protective handguard, a common sight in the Confederacy during the Civil War. It was an all-purpose tool, used for chopping branches, splitting logs, and dealing with enemies in battle.

The knife has a blade made out of 1055 high carbon steel. It features a single-edged cutting blade with a slight curvature and a slightly upward-pointed tip, usable for both cutting and thrusting.

The handle is one-handed and made out of contoured wood with a light stain. The protective D-guard is made out of metal and connects with the backstrap seen on the backside of the handle.

This Bowie Knife comes with its own leather sheath, fitted with metal furniture, that allows for safe and easy carriage of the blade. It can be used for reenactments or for actual cutting tasks.
