Windlass US Model 1917 Bolo Knife with Scabbard

The Bolo knife was a type of melee weapon used by the US army from 1897 to 1918, undergoing multiple changes over the years. In 1917, the Bolo underwent a drastic change and came with a very broad blade, especially widening toward the tip. This design was made to satisfy the tasks needed for both cutting enemies and chopping things like bushes in the fields of fire, which is why it is sometimes called a "chopper."

This accurate replica is made from high-carbon steel. The short sword is full-tang with two large bolts supporting it through the handle, giving it very good balance and sturdiness. The right side of the blade is stamped with "US MOD 1917 CT," and the left with "PLUMB STLOUIS 1918."

The one-handed handle is made out of wood with a peak pommel on the side, allowing for a firm grip, while the smaller crossguard acts as a hand-stopper.

It comes with a No1 style scabbard that includes a 1918 dated maker's stamp on the tip. It is covered with heavy canvas and has a heavy-duty brass throat and brass belt hook, which was standard during WWI.
