Early Degen Dagger Used for Plate Armor

The Degen, one of the most iconic European daggers, emerged during the Middle Ages with the rise of plate armor. Although deceptively small and lightweight, this stiff-bladed weapon was engineered to defeat some of the deadliest foes of the era by precisely targeting the vulnerable gaps in heavy armor.

Our functional replica represents one of the earliest models, built for both authenticity and performance. The blade is forged from resilient 5160 spring steel, sharpened on both edges, and features a reinforced mid-rib to strengthen its core and culminate in a piercingly sharp tip.

The handle is crafted from durable rosewood and showcases a historically accurate hourglass shape, complete with a forward-narrowed guard to ensure a firm and secure grip, even when used with armored gloves.

This Degen comes complete with a leather scabbard fitted with belt loops, allowing for convenient and safe carry.
