1095 Clay Tempered Samurai Daisho Set

Hanbon Forge's 1095 Clay Tempered Daisho Set includes a matching katana, wakizashi, and tanto in colors of black, red, and gold. Hand forged from folded 1095 high carbon steel and differentially hardened, the resulting blades holds a sharp and keen edge, recommended for experienced cutting practitioners. Besides making the full tang blades tougher and more flexible, the clay tempering process also produces genuine hamon. The Hazuya polishing process ensures that the jihada (grain) and hamon of the blades are prominent, adding to the overall aesthetics of the Daisho.

These swords are equipped with high quality brass fittings, including the aoi gata (hollyhock shape) tsuba, menuki, habaki, and seppa. Blades are then secured using two bamboo mekugi to the wooden core tsuka wrapped with genuine red samegawa held in place by very tight katatemaki using black synthetic silk tsuka ito.

Each blade comes sheathed in a glossy black saya partially wrapped with real ray skin and black synthetic silk sageo, free sword bag, and certificate of authenticity. The Daisho set can be fully disassembled and assembled.
