Windlass 1833 Texas Dragoons Blade Inscription

Replicating the single-edged straight saber used by the American cavalry, notably the Texas Dragoons, this replica sword was heavily utilized in early United States wars, such as the Second Seminole War (1835-1842), and particularly during the Mexican War (1846-1848).

This sword design emerged shortly before Mexico won its independence, with the sword being ordered from Ames Mfg. Co. for the "280 M1833" blade design.

Forged from 1065 high carbon steel, the sword is known for its optimal blend of rigidity and flexibility. The blade bears the historically accurate inscription "Texas Dragoons".

Fittings are crafted from brass, and the handle features a D-guard with a hook on the opposite side. The handle, made from wood, is wrapped in leather and cord wire to ensure a firm grip. Accompanied by a steel scabbard, this piece is perfect for decoration, reenactments, and can be sharpened for functional cutting purposes.
