Shadow Dancer Premium Musashi Katana with Folded Steel

Inspired by Miyamoto Musashi, a renowned Japanese strategist, swordsperson, and writer, this remarkable Shadow Dancer katana has a shinogi zukuri (ridge line runs along the blade’s length on both sides) blade forged from folded steel, differentially heat treated to produce a keen edge and flexible spine. This process also yields a beautiful gunome (waves) hamon that is made visible through Kesho polishing. 

As expected, it has a namako sukashi (sea cucumber openwork) iron tsuba, a design invented by Musahi himself for its excellent performance in terms of weight distribution, superior hand protection, and improved durability. Other fittings include blackened brass fuchi and kashira with a stone wall pattern, blackened brass menuki, along with copper-toned seppa and habaki. 

The full tang blade is secured using one mekugi to the wooden Haichi style tsuka covered in white samegawa. Japanese imported black kapok (cotton-silk) ito used for its tsukamaki ensures a comfortable and secure grip. 

A glossy lacquered saya fitted with brass shitodome and Japanese imported synthetic silk sageo completes the overall ensemble.
