Shadow Dancer High Performance Folded Steel Katana

Designed with a focus on performance, this Shadow Dancer katana features a mirror polished shinogi zukuri (ridge line runs along the blade’s length on both sides) blade forged from high performance folded steel known for its hard cutting edge and flexibility. Heat treated and oil quenched, the blade’s premium bohi delivers a lightweight and balanced sword with optimized tachikaze. An etched hamon enhances its visual appeal. 

It comes equipped with premium blackened fittings—including an iron maru gata (round) tsuba, brass fuchi, and kashira with mitsudomoe, 三ツ巴 (traditional symbol with three interlocking comma-like swirls within a circle) motifs. Besides symbolizing the cycle of life and cosmic harmony, the motif is also linked to Hachiman, the Shinto God of War and patron of the samurai. Additional gold-toned brass seppa and habaki complement the overall appearance. 

Following centuries of tradition, one mekugi secures the full tang blade to the wooden Haichi style tsuka covered in white genuine samegawa with tsukamaki wrapped tightly using Japanese imported cotton ito. Hishigami (folded paper wedges) are integrated for improved grip, durability, and edge alignment feedback. 

Completing this piece is a black oil-lacquered saya with brass shitodome and thickened sageo.
