Black&Red Katana Damascus Steel Sword Tiger&Lion Koshirae

This Japanese Katana exhibits a red and black theme, symbolizing a fusion of sacrifice and happiness. Composed of Damascus Steel, it has undergone an intensive folding process, resulting in approximately 8000 visible, extraordinary blade layers or patterns. The steel has been polished to accentuate these layers while being oil-tempered and quenched to achieve optimal hardness. Additionally, the blade has received special treatment to generate the black/red pattern that assists in protecting it from corrosion.

A double-pegged tang enhances its stability, and the handle is a wooden core embellished with rayskin and a tsuka-maki wrap strengthening the tip. The scabbard is wooden and lacquered for additional aesthetic appeal. The fittings of the sword incorporate alloy, brass, and copper embellishments based on a floral theme with a roaming tiger.

This versatile sword can serve various purposes: becoming functional when sharpened, ideal for Iaido when unsharpened - providing authentic tachikaze (sound feedback following a perfect slash), or it can also be employed as decor. A complimentary bag for storage is included with the sword.
