Crane Theme Tsuba Ko-Katana 1095 Carbon Steel Sword

This is a replica of a Japanese ko-Katana sword, historically used by the samurai, following a crane motif symbolizing good fortune, longevity, and loyalty. The Ko-Katana, with its shorter blade, allows for more impactful strikes. It's crafted from 1095 high-carbon steel, after undergoing oil quenching and differential heat treatment to achieve ideal hardness levels.

The blade is full tang with a double peg for increased security. It features a bohi or groove, lowering its weight and making the tachikaze, the sound of a perfect swing, easily achievable. The handle comprises a rayskin and silk tsuka-maki wrap, and the scabbard is made of protective hardwood. The fittings, disassemblable, are made of alloy, brass, and copper. Being affordable, this ko-Katana is ideal for decor, Iaido training, and light-cutting practice.
