Ronin Katana Dojo Pro Model #22 (Ko Katana)

This impressive looking piece is Ronin Katana's Dojo Pro Katana Model #22. It is a Ko-Katana, which means that it has a shorter blade compared to the usual katana. The sword's blade is forged from 1060 steel and through hardened and features a maru gata (round or circular) tsuba (guard).

The aesthetics of this ko-katana is complemented by the blackened iron fuchi (hilt collar) and kashira (pommel cap) which contrasts with the gold colored menuki (decorative ornament).

The tsuka (handle) is covered with black same (rayskin) and the tsukamaki uses black silk ito (handle wrap). The saya (scabbard) is glossy and red lacquered while the koiguchi (mouth of saya), kurigata (knob for sageo), and kojiri (scabbard end cap) are made of hand cut and polished buffalo horn. The black sageo (carrying cord) for the sword is made of synthetic silk.
