EN42J Steel Combat Bastard Sword

Crafted with historical accuracy in mind, our Red Dragon swords are made from high carbon EN42J Spring Steel blades. These blades are forged and tempered to replicate the performance of their historical counterparts, with a core hardness of approximately 45HRC and an edge hardness of approximately 50HRC.

The steel guards and pommels feature authentic designs, while the wooden grips are meticulously wrapped in leather cord for both aesthetics and comfort. Each sword is accompanied by a leather-wrapped wooden scabbard and an integrated leather belt, completing the authentic look.

Our Red Dragon Combat "Bastard Sword" specifically emulates a 13th-century longsword. The broad blade is well-suited for slashing techniques and performs exceptionally when sharpened. While the 1mm edge allows for use in HEMA (drilling, not sparring) and stage combat, minor surface nicks may occur due to the thinness of the edge. For safety purposes, we recommend rounding off the tip if using the sword in these disciplines.
