PRODUCT DETAILS

This is an accurate replica of the French Napoleonic Briquet Short Sword, popularly known for popping champagnes. It was designed and introduced in 1767, well before the French Revolution started, and was used throughout the Revolution and well into the Napoleonic Wars. It replaced the previous French Épée models and became the new light short sword ideal for close-quarters combat, as well as being used as a field tool.

The sword is made out of 1075 high carbon steel and comes fully functional, ready to be used for cutting. It is flat on the sides with a very soft curvature near the blade's tip.

The handle is made out of brass, and the blade has an accurately wider tang for balance. It features a protective D-guard with a slight narrowing toward the bottom for better full-swing slash motion.

It comes with its own leather scabbard fitted with a brass throat and chape.
