    A while back, Angus Trim devised the I-Beam, a style of HEMA training sword, named after its profile design. This innovation aimed to address two prevalent issues encountered in training swords. Firstly, it tackled the problem of tapered blunts with thin edges that were prone to rapid damage. Secondly, it resolved the challenge posed by thick blunts that handled clumsily, resembling crowbars. 

    The incorporation of a substantial central fuller in the I-Beam design enabled a greater amount of metal at the edge while preserving the sword's agility and liveliness when wielded. This combination of enhanced durability and maneuverability makes the I-Beam training sword an effective solution for HEMA practitioners.
