Shadow Dancer Japanese Damascus Katana Sword – Battle Ready

Inspired by legendary ancient Damascus steel blades, this Shadow Dancer katana brings together traditional Japanese sword design with modern metallurgical advances. 

Its shinogi zukuri (ridge line runs along the blade’s length on both sides) blade is forged from modern Damascus steel, heat treated, and oil quenched to produce bold designs created through pattern-welding. Combined with special polishing, these striking and high-contrast blade patterns enhance the sword’s aesthetic appeal. 

High-quality fittings adorn the katana, including a blackened iron maru gata (round) sukashi (openwork) tsuba, as well as brass seppa and habaki. Blackened brass fuchi, kashira, and menuki display bamboo motifs. With its quick and upright growth, along with the ability to bend without snapping under heavy snow or strong winds, the bamboo has been featured in koshirae since feudal Japan, symbolizing flexibility, resilience, integrity, and virtue. 

The nakago is secured within the Haichi style tsuka with one mekugi. White genuine samegawa covers the handle, providing extra traction for the tightly wrapped Japanese cotton tsukamaki. Hishigami pro (folded paper wedges) beneath the wrap act as additional support and anchors, ensuring the wrap stays in place, resulting in a more solid and longer lasting grip with crisp and uniform hishigata (diamond profiles). 

The blade comes sheathed in a red oil lacquered saya fitted with brass shitodome and a matching thickened sageo.
