Ko-Katana 1095 Carbon Steel Sword

The Ko-Katana was a genuine historical weapon utilized by the legendary samurais. It had the same handle length as a standard Katana, but boasted a shorter blade. This design enabled it to be functional for close-quarter battle scenarios, generating much stronger impacts during slashing. This particular Ko-Katana is composed of robust 1095 high carbon steel, crafted in a maru (single steel) technique, oil-quenched, and hazuya stone polished for optimal hardness and a brilliant shine.

The blade is double-pegged for increased security, featuring two sets of bohi (grooves) designed to produce the satisfying tachikaze (sound of a perfect swing). The handle boasts a traditional battle katate-maki (cord style) above a rough rayskin pattern, while the scabbard is crafted from matte lacquered hardwood. Additionally, the fittings are composed of alloy, brass, and copper with a monk motif, and can be entirely disassembled/reassembled for maintenance. This affordable Katana is perfect for cosplay, safe Iaido training, or light tameshigiri (cutting practice).
