Loyal Kobuse Katana

This Loyal Kobuse Katana from Z-Sey is an exquisite masterpiece that showcases the elegance of Japanese swords. The Shinogi Zukuri (curved blade with yokote and shinogi close to mune) blade is forged from tamahagane and differentially hardened, clay tempered, and Sashikomi Grade A++ polished to reveal a striking gunome (semicircles) hamon.

As its name implies, the blade is crafted using the kobuse technique, a traditional and unique method that combines different types of steel in layers to give it exceptional strength and durability while adding to its aesthetics.

Fitted with an iron maru gata (round) tsuba; brass fuchi, kashira, menuki; red copper seppa, and two piece Yasuri style habaki, the overall luxurious design of this katana is further enhanced by the handmade Haichi style tsuka. The handle is then covered in white large emperor node samegawa, wrapped using Japanese wine silk.

The katana is then sheathed in an oil lacquered red and black saya fitted with horn koiguchi, kurigata, and kojiri. The brass shitodome mounted on the opening of the kurigata prevents the black Japanese silk sageo from fraying. There is an option of a handmade saya which will require an additional 4-6 weeks for its production.
