The Miao Dao is a Chinese sword also known as the Grain Leaf saber. It is often compared to the Japanese katana due to its characteristics. Believed to be popularized by General Qi Jiguang's victory in his battle against Japanese pirates, the Miao Dao remained useful in battling enemies of the Ming Empire. This resulted in General Qi's battalion to be known as the "invincible Qi army". For this reason, the Miao Dao was highly coveted by soldiers.
Hanwei's Miao Dao highlights the skill of Chinese swordsmiths. Formidable and elegant, the full tang blade is forged from L6 bainite, a nickel rich steel reserved for high end swords due to its durability, resilience, and great impact resistance. The blade also features a groove on both sides to reduce the weight of the sword and improve its point of balance.
This sword has a black ribbed handle matched by the deep black lacquered scabbard. Equipped with stainless steel fittings such as the ornate hand guard and pommel, this Miao Dao is a great addition to any collection.
