Dragon King Modern Wakizashi – Bohi

This sleek and elegant Modern Wakizashi from Dragon King is made for the modern warrior. 

Its shinogi zukuri (ridge line runs along the blade’s length on both sides) blade forged from 1566 high carbon steel contains manganese, forming a consistent microstructure after undergoing differential heat treatment—a process that results in a sharp edge, flexible spine, and yielding a beautiful gunome (wave-like) hamon. The addition of a single bohi on the blade helps decrease the sword’s overall weight while improving its point of balance and adds to the definition of its tachikaze. 

In line with its design, this wakizashi is equipped with premium fittings—including a maru gata (round) tsuba and copper toned seppa and habaki. This sword’s menuki features a dragon, a symbol of power, protection, and wisdom. 

For added stability, two mekugi secure the blade’s full tang to the G10 handle, a strong, lightweight, and waterproof material made from high-pressure fiberglass laminate. This piece is completed by a black lacquered saya with matching sageo.
